May 2025 marks a decade of the Steph Lusted Jewellery Showroom/Gallery. Visit Steph’s fabulous Gallery & Jewellery Studio to celebrate this milestone with a curated group exhibition.
I have worked collaboratively with Steph Lusted on multiple projects over the past 13 years, and it is my absolute pleasure to be invited to participate.
This special exhibition will showcase a variety of unique artworks from Bone and Stone carving, Bronze sculptural works, Netsuke, Glass, Ceramics, Jewellery & Adornment works, as well as Objet d'art.
On display at the Steph Lusted Jewellery Showroom for the full month of May.
For this exhibition, I have created two new pieces in my Lens series, based on the Maori legend of Pihanga and Taranaki Mountains.
The legend of Taranaki and Pìhanga
It is said Taranaki Maunga (formerly known as Pukeonaki) and stood near Tūrangi, with Ruapehu, Tongariro, and Pìhanga.
Pukeonaki and Tongariro both loved Pìhanga and fought over her. But Tongariro was stronger and Pukeonaki (Taranaki), bearing the scars of battle, withdrew underground, carving out the bed of the Whanganui River on his journey to the sea.
