Waipā Creative Trail 2026 — A Wonderful Weekend for Di Tocker Glass

I was delighted to be part of the Waipā Creative Trail on the 23rd & 24th May 2026, opening my studio doors to the community across what turned out to be a truly memorable weekend.

Over the two days, around 300 visitors came through and the energy throughout was wonderful. Mike, Ruby and I were on hand to welcome everyone, share the story behind the work, and answer the many great questions that came up. The conversations were lively, genuine, and exactly what open studio events are all about.

One of the most striking things I discovered over the weekend: more than 95% of visitors were coming to my studio for the very first time. That's an extraordinary reminder of why events like this matter - we aimed to share knowledge and the making processes of cast glass. Of which had people fascinated!

A huge thank you to the team behind the Waipā Creative Trail for creating such a well-run, welcoming event.

It was a great to be among the 60+ creatives featured across the trail's 10 locations, and I look forward to being part of this wonderful community event again next year!
