On the Move

I always said this would be the last studio...

Well, it turns out I have one more in me!

It's time for a change of lifestyle. Mike and I are ready to free up more time for the things we enjoy outside of home, so we're making the move to a smaller house and a bigger studio.

The biggest change? My studio will no longer be at home. Instead, it will have its own dedicated space, which opens up all sorts of exciting possibilities. It also means I'll be commuting to work for the first time in over 20 years... thankfully it's only 3km, so it's the perfect excuse to ride my bike everyday!

Our new studio will be at The Colliery, an exciting new development by Progressive Property in Cambridge, and it will become the new home of Di Tocker Glass.

There's a big transition ahead. The building is still under construction, and once it's complete we'll have plenty of work to do transforming it into a purpose-built glass studio. It's a huge project, but I'm loving the opportunity to pour a generous dollop of creativity into designing a space that's made especially for what I do.

If all goes to plan, we'll be back melting and making glass sometime in October. I can't wait to welcome you into this exciting new chapter and share the journey along the way!

Plenty of glass to choose from!

If you've been thinking about adding a special piece of my glass art to your collection, don't worry - there will still be plenty to choose from over the coming months.

Grace and I are working right up until the move, finishing pieces before the studio closes. I'll continue to have work available, and I'll still be just an email or phone call away. I can also courier artworks throughout New Zealand and overseas as usual.

You'll also find a wonderful selection of my work at my supporting galleries:

Artform Gallery, Matakana - Angus
Black Door Gallery, Auckland - Justin and Neala
NZ Glassworks, Whanganui - Madeline and Tia
Gallery De Novo, Dunedin - Liz and Richelle
Gallery Thirty Three, Wanaka - Vanessa and team

A small reminder that Thursday 13 August will be the last day to visit my current Studio & Gallery. If you'd like to pop in before we close, please give me a call first so I can make sure I'm here to welcome you.
